Juan
Monroy was baptized into Christ at age 21 and
soon became a preacher of the gospel. During the 1964
World’s Fair in New York City, he encountered the Churches
of Christ, finding a group of people that shared a common
faith. He returned to Spain as a missionary in 1965. He
hosted the first Herald of Truth radio broadcast in Spanish
in 1967 and has worked continuously with Herald of Truth for
over 40 years.
Juan is the author of
dozens of books; the Spanish publishing house CLIE recently
published the 11th volume of their series The Complete
Works of Juan Antonio Monroy. He has held campaigns in
countries around the world and hosts a radio program which
airs in Spain and in Latin America. He presently serves as
president of the Religious Freedom and Human Rights
organization in Spain. Juan was also responsible for
obtaining permission for members of the Churches of Christ
to renew their work in Cuba in 1985. At that time there were
about 150 active members of their church and now there are
over 300. Juan and his wife Mercedes lives in Madrid and
have four daughters, all of whom are married and living in
Spain.
